About The Dance Design

The Dance Design coaches competitive dancers under 18 in strength, flexibility, injury prevention, and recovery, so they can train with purpose, move with confidence, and perform at their best.

Our coaching is grounded in movement science and adapted to the unique physical and developmental needs of young dancers. From personalized 1:1 sessions to in-studio workshops, every program is designed to build strong, resilient, and artistic athletes who thrive both onstage and in training.

We believe dancers deserve more than just choreography. They deserve coaching that supports longevity, peak performance, and a healthy relationship with their bodies.

My Story

I’m Faith, the founder of The Dance Design, strength and movement coach, and a lifelong dancer and educator.

I grew up as a competitive dancer and later became a dance teacher and fitness instructor. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege to train with and teach many talented young dancers. Along the way, I noticed a common challenge, not just for those I worked with, but for myself as well. As dancers, we often struggle with pain, burnout, and uncertainty around how to train our bodies safely and effectively.

Along my journey, I’ve completed RAD ballet syllabus up to Advanced 1 and hold certifications as a Fitness Instructor and as a Youth Exercise Specialist through the National Academy of Sports Medicine. I’m also a member of Sugarfoot Training, an evidence-informed program focused on dancer injury prevention and performance. I hold a Master of Teaching from the University of Toronto, where my research explores the connection between movement, learning, and youth development.

These experiences, combined with my knowledge and education, inspired me to create The Dance Design. I hold a degree in biomechanical engineering, where I studied how the body moves and responds to forces. In engineering, “design” means creating solutions that are efficient, sustainable, and tailored to specific needs. Just like in engineering, every dancer’s body and goals are unique, so their training should be thoughtfully designed for them as well. And this is how The Dance Design came to mind. To design programs to build stronger dancers.
